Description

BOT WAR

Bot War is a 10mm skirmish wargame played on a 3'x3' table. While the scale is 10mm, Bots and other creatures range from 20mm for the smallest Bot to 140mm for the huge combined Bots. The story takes place on an alternate Earth and revolves around two main protagonists: The Democracy, a reflection of 1980s USA, and Atlantica, an underwater kingdom inspired by Atlantis. There are 10 different factions and the game opens after a major, devastating war between The Democracy and Atlantica in which the arrival of Bots saved the Democracy from destruction and slavery. Welcome to Bot War!

C.O.I.L.S.

Formally Snake Corp, C.O.I.L.S. staged the largest corporate hostile take over in human history, absorbing the Snake Corp entity, breaking them up and siphoning its assets out to C.O.I.L.S. subsidiaries. C.O.I.L.S. is run by the evil Dr. Mindtwist and is the most technologically advanced company in the word -- but also the most corrupted. There are ongoing investigations into its shady business dealings in almost every country. No convictions have yet been recorded, however, because no one can be found to prosecute.

ITEM DESCRIPTION

At the centre of Snake Corp is the COILS scientific lab. Dr. Mindtwist is the world leader in Bot technology research. Having built the first Snake Corp Bots using stolen Deceiver tech, the COILS facility then endeavoured to understand how the technology worked. Declaring the Snake Corp Bots "safe," they were put into the field. Since that time the Board has deemed further interaction with Deceivers as "undesirable."

Increasing pressure from the Board to return their seat of power back to the Democracy has led Mindtwist to find new ways to create Bots to spearhead the invasion. It was this motivation that led Mindtwist to an important discovery -- by setting the correct frequency at the COILS lab, he was able to discover streams and streams of fragmented code. It looked to Mindtwist like BOT code; however, it was fragmented and scrambled into horrific forms. By downloading some of this code he was able to scrub some of it enough that it could be "trained" to reside within a body not aligned with its fabrication code. Thus, the crawlers were created. Mass-produced minibots double the height of a man, individually they are formidable but can be defeated by a single human armed with an explosive weapon. However, as a horde they can pull down titans themselves!

It is unknown if the Crawlers themselves are individual codes or indeed the same code fragmented between multiple Bots, much like clones are. However, some whisper that the Crawlers are actually one of Dr. Mindtwists failed experiments with Bot cloning technology. Either way, Snake Corp remain apparently oblivious to the mortal dangers of Bot code manipulation. While examining the ether code late one evening, Mindtwist came across an altogether different looking code. This code was smoother and more intact. As he pondered this code he saw that someone had started to download it before his very eyes. He immediately engaged his own download device, which started taking the code from the end. Midway the devices tore the code in half. Despite being halved, this code was still stronger than the Crawler codes and even stronger than most of the current Snake Bot codes. This code became known as Reptile because the tail end of the code survived intact.

Reptile is by far the largest and most powerful bot in the Snake Corp arsenal. Despite his size, Reptile is sneaky and devious, even by Snake Corp Bot standards. He is often accompanied to battle by the Crawlers. Focusing on the threat of Reptile, enemies often do not notice the four crawlers burrowing up behind them for a nasty sneak attack.

This set comes with enough parts to make 1 x Reptile, 4 x Crawlers. This is a metal multipart kit. Superglue required for assembly (not included). This set comes with 1 x 50mm round black plastic bases and 4 x 25mm black plastic bases. Models supplied unassembled and unpainted.
